Fake that in Ternopil they are fined for refusing to kneel in front of the procession “On the Shield”

Russian propaganda is massively spreading a video from Ternopil on social networks, when the “On the Shield” funeral cortege with the body of a fallen soldier passes through the city. In the video, an order to people to kneel down is heard from a loudspeaker, otherwise they will be fined. However, in reality, this information is a sick fabrication of the Russians, and there are no such orders in the original video. Then we tell in more detail.

Fake

The video, which is distributed by propagandists in all available ways – on Telegram, Facebook, on YouTube and on the social network X – shows how a funeral cortege moves through the streets of the city. http://surl.li/shbysg

The cars have blue-yellow and red-black flags, and one of them has the inscription “On the shield” – this is the name of the cars that transport the bodies of fallen soldiers. http://surl.li/mpnbym

It is claimed that the video was shot in Ternopil, the cortege is taking a soldier killed in Kursk, and passers-by are ordered to kneel down from loudspeakers. For disobeying the order, people will be fined for disobeying the Armed Forces.

“Nothing unusual, it’s just that the nation of “non-slaves” is on its knees. In the footage shot in the center of Ternopil, a transport with another “hero” is moving. Citizens are announced over the loudspeaker: “The defender of Ukraine, who fell in the Kursk region, is riding in this car.” Everyone is on their knees. “Citizens who refuse to kneel will be fined for insulting the Armed Forces,” reads the description under one of the propagandists’ posts in the original language.

The video was actually shot in Ternopil, at the 13th second a table with the name of the street “Ruska, 17” enters the frame. However, the original video was published on the YouTube channel of the local site long before the operation in the Kursk region – on July 17. It does not have any voice announcements or orders for citizens. Only sirens and emergency calls can be heard. http://surl.li/blcnby

CONCLUSIONS

In Ternopil, people are not fined for not kneeling in front of the “On the Shield” mourning procession. Local residents have been paying tribute to the fallen soldiers since the beginning of the anti-terrorist operation in 2014.

In this way, fallen heroes are honored not only in Ternopil Oblast, but in other regions of the country. http://surl.li/hzsqyi

Valentyn Ilyin, a military man who was being carried by the cortege, died on July 13, 2014. http://surl.li/bzlefl. While the operation in the Kursk region began on August 6. http://surl.li/gjhwdp

Propaganda spreads similar posts to declare Ukraine’s losses during the Kursk operation, hiding its failures. At the same time, as reported in the Department of Strategic Communications of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during the week of the operation, the Ukrainian military took control of the same territory that Russia occupied for the whole of 2024. http://surl.li/lamxvs

In addition, by calling Ukrainians “slaves”, Russia tries to justify the killing of civilians during the war, depersonalizing them and putting them in a negative light.
