Russian propagandists are distributing a video on which, as they claim, the graves of Ukrainian soldiers have been removed. For example, due to heavy losses, soldiers are buried without monuments, fences and simply in the middle of the forest. However, this video does not show the graves of Ukrainian soldiers. What exactly – we will tell you further.
Fake
The video, published by Rospropagada, has musical accompaniment in Ukrainian. According to the Russians, it shows the cemetery of Ukrainian soldiers. “Such cemeteries of military personnel began to appear in Ukraine. Many have been lost, they are burying tightly, there are no fences, no monuments,” says the post under the video in the original language.
The footage shows a wooded area, wooden stakes with plaques and blue and yellow flags on each. However, if you look closely, you can see tree saplings near each peg.
So, in fact, the propagandists took the original video, which is freely available on Tik-Tok (http://surl.li/cpnprz ) and Youtube (http://surl.li/phrrgn). These videos show an avenue of oak trees in the city of Slavutychi, planted in honor of fallen Ukrainian soldiers.
The trees were planted in the spring of last year. This was reported in the Podil Forestry Office. http://surl.li/eauruf
“123 oak saplings – to pay tribute to the 123rd fallen servicemen of the communities of Slavutchyna: Berezdivska, Ulashanivska, Hannopilska, Krupetska, Netishynska, Slavutska. The flag of Ukraine will fly near each name tree. Later, a chapel will be built nearby,” the post said.
CONCLUSIONS
The video, distributed by propagandists, shows a planted forest in honor of the fallen soldiers, not a mass burial of the fighters. In Ukraine, military cemeteries are not made in the forest. Ukrainian soldiers are buried with honors in specially designated places in cemeteries. In addition, they are currently working on the creation of the National Military Memorial Cemetery in the Kyiv region, and its branches are planned in every region of the country later. http://surl.li/bqnalu
The thesis about mass burials of Ukrainian soldiers is another attempt by Russian propaganda to declare the “successes of the Russian army” and cause dissatisfaction in society because the authorities in Ukraine are allegedly going to fight “to the last Ukrainian”.
At the same time, according to the calculations of the British newspaper The Economist, between 462,000 and 728,000 Russian soldiers have been “disabled” in Russia’s war against Ukraine. http://surl.li/kzvpjd
The publication concluded that Russia’s losses in Ukraine from 2022 exceed the number of losses in all its wars since World War II combined.
