Manipulation and untruth that “regular” Polish troops will be sent to war in Ukraine under the guise of Ukrainians

For the third year now, Russian propaganda has been sleeping and seeing itself at war with NATO. But, as they say, NATO has not arrived yet, and the Russian occupiers have already lost more than 500,000 soldiers in the war in Ukraine. However, propagandists do not stop their search for NATO soldiers.

So the other day there was a wave of speculation and manipulation about information about the formation of a volunteer battalion in Poland from Ukrainians living there. About the details – further in the material.

Manipulation \ Falsehood

The other day, Russian telegram scavengers, who actively work in the Ukrainian information space, spread information that Polish regular troops will be sent to Ukraine under the guise of Ukrainian volunteers (further on in the original language):

“Poland announced that more than a thousand Ukrainian citizens in the country are ready to join the ranks of the new foreign legion to participate in combat operations on the side of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Most likely, we are talking about conducting an operation “under a foreign flag” and sending regular Polish troops to Ukraine under the guise of “Ukrainians”.

In their post, the propagandists immediately spun a series of manipulations and lies.

First, in the Russian post, as a classic technique, the manipulative generalization “they declared in Poland” was used. Against the background of the absence of a source of the statement, an official person who could have said it, one gets the impression that such information really sounded at the highest level from official representatives, because it is in Poland…

In fact, such information was published by the Polish publication RMF FM. But in their publication, the journalists relied on “sources in Ukrainian diplomatic missions.” http://surl.li/vonxdl

That is, the information is unofficial, from anonymous sources. In addition, as the publication writes: “according to the most modest estimates, several thousand Ukrainian refugees may apply to join the legion…”. That is, even anonymous sources talk about the number only in the format of a forecast.

It should also be noted that propagandists began to speculate on the formation of a volunteer battalion of Ukrainians in Poland from the very beginning of the announcement of such information, namely, during the visit of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi to Poland and the signing of a security agreement with the country’s leadership on July 8, 2024. http://surl.li/hhgyua

Secondly, when in February-March 2024, French President Emmanuel Macron began to actively promote the idea of sending troops to Ukraine from certain European countries, and France in particular, many countries did not support his idea.

In particular, Poland then declared that they would not send their troops to Ukraine. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Defense Vladyslav Kosiniak-Kamysh: “There are no such plans, Poland will not send its troops to Ukraine. We spoke very clearly about it – both the president and the prime minister, and I confirm it: the introduction of Polish troops into Ukraine is not planned.” http://surl.li/szmokd

Therefore, Poland made it clear a long time ago that it has no intention of sending its regular troops to Ukraine, neither under its own flag nor under any other flag.

In addition, on April 4, 2024, at a press conference in Brussels, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg emphasized that “the North Atlantic Alliance has no plans to deploy troops in Ukraine, and the Ukrainian government has not made such a request.” http://surl.li/lmcmvq

CONCLUSION

So we can state that Russian propaganda openly manipulates the topic of the formation of a volunteer battalion in Poland from Ukrainians living there and spreads false facts about this event.

The purpose of such throwaways is to once again find an excuse to reanimate the old narrative that Russia is at war with NATO in Ukraine.
