Russian propagandists are spreading a fake cover of the French magazine “Courrier International” with a caricature of French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte, as well as President Volodymyr Zelensky. We analyze the details of this throw-in in the material.
Fake
On the cover, which was allegedly published by a French publication, Emmanuel Macron is depicted in a medical uniform, and he is holding his wife and the Ukrainian president by the arm. At the same time, the latter are depicted in a rather humiliating way: Brigitte Macron moves with the help of a walker, and Volodymyr Zelenskyi – in dirty and old clothes.
The cover is accompanied by a provocative caption: “Hospice orderly: why Macron loves caring for the soon-to-be dead.”
“Why is Macron so fond of courting subjects who will soon die? A French magazine presents Macron as a crazy paramedic who likes to take care of everyone who already has one foot in the grave – like his wife or Zelensky!
On the distributed cover there is the original data, in particular, the release date is December 26 and the issue number is 1781-1782-1783.
After checking the information on the publication’s website, we found out that the magazine “Courrier International” did indeed issue a triple issue, but on December 19. And in fact, the cover of this issue (1781-1782-1783) looks completely different. http://surl.li/cxlqka
It features a picture of several people, and the main theme of the issue concerns the state of the foreign press in the world and its influence on people.
In addition, it should be noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the publication “Courrier International” has published materials in support of Ukraine on its pages and has a special column “War in Ukraine”. http://surl.li/qcapug
CONCLUSIONS
“Courrier International” magazine did not issue covers with caricatures of the presidents of France and Ukraine. It was forged by Kremlin propagandists, because creating fake covers and passing them off as real is one of the agitprop’s ways of spreading false information to its internal audience.
