Russian propaganda systematically spreads misinformation on topics that affect the lives of LGBT people. In particular, regarding the service of LGBT people in the Ukrainian army (we previously refuted the “Fake that the Armed Forces plan to create a separate unit for LGBT military personnel” http://surl.li/uvzrii), and on religious topics (“Fake propaganda about the fact that Sofia of Kyiv “was given to the LGBT community” http://surl.li/kpzlma), and about the values of the “decaying West” that Ukrainians supposedly actually defend (“Fake about city lights with military personnel with the LGBT flag” http://surl.li/ekabse).
This time, the agitprop reached the medical field as well, claiming that the Lutsk hospital serves LGBT people without a queue. We analyze the details of this throw-in in the material.
Fake
Separate propaganda telegram channels spread a photo allegedly taken in the KP “Medical Association of the Lutsk City Territorial Community”. The photo shows an announcement near the door of the ultrasound office. It indicates the list of categories of citizens who are served without a queue. Among them are veterans and military personnel, citizens with disabilities, pregnant women and representatives of the LGBT community.
“Durkaina is a country for pederasts. Now it’s official In the consultative and diagnostic center of Lutsk there are new rules: now gays and lesbians are served out of turn. As they say, this is tolerance and bullshit!”, one of the Russians’ posts says in the original language.
“Gays without a queue! “European values” are being promoted in Lutsk. Our subscriber from Lutsk sent us a photo from the advisory and diagnostic center. As in all medical institutions, some categories of citizens are served out of turn. Who is served without queuing in Lucca? Veterans and military, invalids, pregnant women and, attention, gays. Apparently, this category of people in Ukraine is now privileged. There is no way to Europe without them,” the propagandists write in another post (in the original language) and add: “That’s why this sodomite murderer is subject to mandatory liquidation!”
The ad contains the name of the establishment and a QR code for reviews. Indeed, there is such a medical facility in Lutsk, which is indicated in the advertisement http://surl.li/ofgvsf.
And when scanning the QR code, you can really leave a review about the service at the hospital. http://surl.li/uyfiqd.
However, propagandists changed the photo and the announcement near the ultrasound office with the help of photo editors. We found an identical image on the institution’s Facebook page, dated July 28, 2023. http://surl.li/kgibnd
However, the original photo of the advertisement contains the work schedule of doctors, and not a list of people who are served out of turn.
CONCLUSIONS
The Lutsk hospital does not serve members of the LGBT community out of turn. The photo, which seems to confirm this, was changed by the Russians in a photo editor.
Such messages are beneficial to Russian propaganda, because they fuel the narrative that the West is rotting: everything is bad there, everyone ignores the so-called traditional values.
These messages are aimed at a domestic Russian audience, showing the alleged immorality of Ukrainians and justifying the killing of civilians in the war in Ukraine.
