After the US presidential election, the Kremlin intensified its disinformation campaign aimed at undermining relations between Ukraine and America. To create another fake, the propagandists resorted to the usual tricks, in particular, forging pages of world publications.
This time, the Russians faked the cover of the satirical German magazine “Titanic”. On it, in the Kremlin’s version, a caricature of US President-elect Donald Trump and the head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak is depicted. We talk about the details of this throw in the material.
Fake
The cover, which is distributed by propaganda Telegram channels, was allegedly published in December 2024 under the number 4352.
On it, Andriy Yermak is depicted, standing on his knees, and Trump put his feet on his back. On the cover it is written (translated from German) “Ukrainian leadership will be very useful to the new US president”, as well as “Trump will provide everyone with positions”.
In fact, Titanic magazine did not issue an issue with such a cover. Issue #4352 for December does exist. http://surl.li/qogtim
However, it depicts the German politician Friedrich Merz with his wife. http://surl.li/qumyyb
Such a pose for Andriy Yermak was not chosen by chance, because in this way the Russians try to humiliate both Ukrainians and the state leadership, because the pose is perceived as an act of submission, humiliation or weakness.
It should be noted that we have repeatedly refuted the fake covers of the “Titanic” magazine, which were forged by the Russians. In particular, about the fake cover of the magazine “Titanic” with a caricature of Volodymyr Zelensky http://surl.li/njbltb , as well as with a caricature mocking Ukraine http://surl.li/vhpmkb.
CONCLUSIONS
The December issue of Titanic magazine did not include a caricature of Trump and Yermak. This fake is another attempt by the Russians to create the illusion of “external governance” in Ukraine and to sow doubts among Ukrainians about the legitimacy of the government.
